I'm using 3.1.10 of TBird on Windows 7 (64 bit).

If I reply to an email, I then cannot read any RSS feeds. They show up
in the summary in the top right pane but if I click on one, it never
appear in the viewing pane.

If I restart TBird, I can then view them without any other changes.

Any ideas?

I've never heard of anything like that before. We'll need some more info
about your Thunderbird setup.
1. Install the about:support extension:
<http://mozillalabs.com/messaging/aboutsupport/>
2. Restart Thunderbird.
3. Go to Help-->Troubleshooting_Information. That should open the
about:support page.
4. Click [Copy to Clipboard].
5. Open a reply to this post, and go to Edit-->Paste to paste the info
from your Troubleshooting Information page.
