With the last upgrade of Thunderbird, everytime spam is determined and
moved to the junk folder I get an error box which says:

"There was an errror truncating the Inbox after filtering a message
folder to Trash. You may need to shutdown Thunderbird and delete INBOX.msf

I have deleted INBOX.msf in all the folders on numerous occasions but
yet the error always returns.

Any ideas?

Hi Skip,

Try this. Right click on the Inbox in TB and select, Compact Folder.
After that is complete, right click Inbox, select Properties, and under
the General Information tab, click Rebuild Index.

What do you mean you have deleted inbox.msf "in all the folders"?

In answer to both previous posts:

I've deleted the INBOX.msf file for each of the email accounts

Yup...closed program before deletion

Thanks guys!

Terry:

Maybe I'm missing something but I do not see a Rebuild Index under
General Info. All I get is Character Encoding

You're not. :-)

Rebuild Index is a new option in TB2. Since you're running
1.5.0.12 it's not available to you.
