Any guesses where to look next?
Where did you find that? I just upgraded to TB Header Tools Extension
0.5.0. What I wanted to do was change the subject of an email to
reflect the date I need to do something about it so I won't forget; it
made the change in the editing screen, but not in the message or message
list.
Useless for TWO things now.
> Any guesses where to look next?
When I did this I saved the message into Unsent Messages and edited it
with a text editor before sending it. Crude, but it worked.
Now that I've told you that, of course, I'm going to have to kill you.

It worked for me. Write message, send later. Go to Unsent Messages
folder, right-click on message, click on 'change header details' and
then 'edit full source'. I guess I don't have to kill you after all,
but I hope you use your power for good.

You mean mislabeled as 4.5?
...download...install...restart...
Er, I mean mislabedled as 5.0. What's wrong with that guy? Anyway,
this one actually worked so I'm happy. Thanks!

The Header Tools extensions, AFAIK, only applies to received messages.

If there's a line in the headers that says "Approved: Yup", I got it to
work with a new message.

WOO-HOO!
Write message. Send later. Open message in Unsent Messages.
Right-click on Header Toos/Change Header Details. Click on Edit Full
Source. Do it. Click OK. Send unsent messages.

Once you add a list of Headers to "user_pref" as outlined in the
MozillaZine article listed above, you can simply select one of the new
headers by clicking on a new recipient field to get another recipient
line, and then clicking on the Header Button and selecting the other
header that you want to use (eg; "Approved:"), and then fill in the header
field with an appropriate (not arbitrary) value. The added header is
included in the NEW note - no need to play with mailboxes.
If I understand you correctly, what you want is explained, using the
|mail.compose.other.header| pref.

When I put that line in user.js it didn't work; I had to add it to the
already-existing entry in prefs.js, to which I had previously added two
headers.
