Hello, I got Thunderbird for using it as a newsreader for Usenet. However, after subscribing to the group I wanted.. I don't see anything. It's not downloading or fetching headers at all. How do I get the headers for the group I am subscribed to?

I recommend that you start by using Tb for an nntp newsreader to
subscribe to this newsgroup on the moz server instead of using GG to
read and post to a group which is predominately populated by people who
are using Tb and the news server. The new GG interface is not very
compatible with people using nntp newsreaders and nntp news servers
instead of browsers using GG.

To subscribe to this group with Tb, you need to create a news account
for news.mozilla.org port 119 connection security none and do not check
to always use authentication when connecting to the server.

Learning to read and post to the moz server's newsgroups will be
'simpler' than some other usenet servers which have a configuration
involving authentication and/or connection security settings.

Also, it will help with the condition of your messages being poorly
formatted by googlegroups.

Once you have succeeded with reading and posting to this Tb.support
group on the moz server, we can move on to whatever news server you are
using for general usenet, which you haven't yet named. Your naming your
chosen news server for usenet will help to guide you in how to configure
to use it.

Do you get the same problem with trying to use Thunderbird to access
this newsgroup? You can find instructions at
<http://ilias.ca/moznewsgroups-tb>.
If not, then tell us the newsgroup you're having problems with so we can
test it.
