I have a folder in Thunderbird name privat 17Mb of size (showed by
windows explorer).
When I compact this folder the result size is 1 Kb, obviously all emails
were deleted previously. Ok, but I want to restore them and I take a
copy of privat.
I was reading this article:
http://www.eyrich-net.org/mozilla/X-Mozilla-Status.html?en
And using notepad I can change the X-Mozilla-status to 0x0001 for all
emails.
However when I make a search throughout the file I find the following
status code:
X-Mozilla-Status: 0019
X-Mozilla-Status: 0009
X-Mozilla-Status: 000b
X-Mozilla-Status: 001b
X-Mozilla-Status: 1009
X-Mozilla-Status: 0008
Question: What is the meaning for those codes?
Jorge Vejerano
Generally, the original message that is deleted or moved remains in the
folder; the Mozilla status reflects that state of existence (in one bit
setting). Compact will effectively delete the message from the folder,
clearing occupied space.

Thanks.

From reading through the linked table of data I will make a guess.
Picking X-Mozilla-Status: 000b, I interpret it this way:
1) the message was read = 1
2) message was replied to = 2
3) message was deleted = 8
The total of these in Hex is: 1+2+8=b
The table provides the values for each position in the 4 digit status
array. That where more than one flag is set for a position, the resultant
value indicates a combination of flags at that position.
