How to 'force' Thunderbird to open 'secondary windows' on main monitor?

Not sure whether this is a Windows issue or a Thunderbird issue :-\

My main workstation is a PC with two monitors. After a long period of
'good behaviour', Thunderbird started 'misbehaving' again in the sense
that it opens 'secondary windows' (i.e. the composition windows that
open when one writes, replies to or forward messages) on my secondary
monitor.

How can I 'force' Thunderbird to open these windows on main monitor,
without having to use an application such as Actual Window Manager?

1 Open a reply
2 Move/Size it where you like it
3 Close it

This is being typed on my secondary display, where I like it.

Thanks, I know how to move windows around, but I want TB to remember my
preference, so that I don't have to keep moving windows manually.

Swifty's method works for me. Just tested it out just to make sure.

Perhaps I should have said "subsequent windows open in the new place".
(and size)

Maybe they don't in your case, in which case, I was the one that got lucky!

I wonder if this depends on OS? I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Windows 7 (for me) is XP with a lot of new features (i.e you can right
click, create folder, in every place where this makes sense) and also a
lot if irritations fixes (perhaps window position/size).

I doubt it. You, Lance, and Herb are all using

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0)
Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/24.2.0

Yes, thanks (TB 24.3.0 now).

Interestingly, TB appears to 'behave' as expected with my newsgroup
profile, but it is still 'misbehaving' with my main TB profile (i.e. new
windows still keep opening on my secondary monitor).

Is there an associated profile/config setting I could try?
