First you need a PDF driver. If you don't already have one, see

http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.support.thunderbird/browse_thread/thread/88c94afa657128ec/72b7884b73eb7a94?lnk=st&q=&rnum=7#72b7884b73eb7a94

for more information and the names of some.

Once you have the driver installed, open the folder in question.
Then, in the thread (message list) pane, click on the first message,
scroll down to the last message and Shift-click on it. This will
highlight all the messages. Then right click on any of the
highlighted messages and select "Print..." from the drop-down menu.
Select the PDF driver as the "printer" to use if it isn't already the
selected printer, and then print to it as you would to any physical
printer.

Hey Ken,
Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but this
seems to want to print each message into a separate PDF file.......I
need them all to be in 1 PDF file without having to merge hundreds of
files that are individually made. Any thoughts?

Thx,
Jeff

Perhaps someone knows of some way to combine multiple messages into
either a large text file or a PDF??

I asked a somewhat similar question in this ng on 2nd Sept. I have also
asked in the Mozillazine forums and searched the Thunderbird add-ons.
The simple answer is that there does not appear to be an elegant way of
doing what you and I
want to do other than copy and paste into a text editor! That is unless
someone knows differently.

In my continued search for a solution to this question, I came across
this link: http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html

It allows you to:

Tools Menu --> Import/Export in mbox/eml format
Context menu on folders panel --> Import/Export in mbox/eml format
- export of folder in a single file (mbox format), with also the
subfolders if you want;
- export of all messages in single files (eml format);
- export of all messages in single files (html or plain text
format), with an index;
- export of all messages in one single plain text file;
- export of the index of the messages in a folder; - mbox files
import;
- eml files import;
- import of all the eml files existing in a directory;

File menu --> Save selected messages
- saving multiple messages in eml/html/plain text format with just
a click;

I hope this helps others as well.

Jeff

It should be mentioned that the free PDF Creator from Sourceforge, can
also print all of the email in a folder. It will also combine a group
of emails into on file.
