Click on 'No Copies' button in same window[1]. Now individually select
all those messages you want to keep.

Thanks, Nir. That helps. But a small problem remains. I’m suing
Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 for Mac. When it shows the duplication list panel,
there is a column for ‘Keep?’, but there is no checkbox as shown in your
screen capture. When I click on that column, the message appears to be
marked as it shows in the totals, but there is no indication that it is
checked. I was using the Walnut theme, but it is the same in the
default theme.
Suggestions?

I found a similar bug report with status Open here[1]. I'm not sure if
the reporter is actually you. If not then you might see that report. It
seems to be a bug in that extension.
