marking all messages as read -> lost after restart

annoying thing, bit i have some pretty large folders which i mark as
read. after a restart all these settings seem to be lost. i am running
TB3.0 on linux.

Does that folder belong to an IMAP account or POP2 account?

Can you check and confirm if the imap folder is not a read-only folder (
in server)?

affirmative, they have 0600 as permission.

yep, seems to be that one. my current mailserver is dovecot 1.2.6.
Strange thing, at work (dovecot 1.1.4 ), it seems to work, or is it a
specific setting of dovecot ?
