I accidentally deleted a message that I created several days ago that
was in my Drafts folder. (Never sent it.) I was holding down some
oddball combination of keys, so the message is not in the Trash or Sent
or Unsent folders. I think I was trying to edit the content without
first opening the message with Edit As New.

The recovery procedures I've read deal with messages that were in the
Inbox. Any ideas for my situation.

I have not compacted the folders.

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray,

Did you try right clicking on the "Drafts" file in your profile and open
it in a plain text editor like Notepad?

Terry,

You gave me the missing clue. I don't have a Drafts folder or file in
the Profiles folder. However, below the Profiles folder there is a
9kls1p1z.default folder. Below that is a Mail folder, and below that is
an Old Mail folder. That's where I found the Drafts file. I opened it
with Notepad and found what I was looking for.

Many thanks,

Ray

After opening the Drafts file with Notepad, I simply highlighted the
message of interest and copied and pasted it into a new message. I
didn't bother with the complicated procedure described in the link Nir
kindly provided in his message at 1:24 p.m.

Glad you found it Ray. I would look at your account settings though and
straighten out the locations for mail, unless that location is where you
intended your mail to be stored. I store my mail outside of my profile
on another drive, where all my data resides.

How would I do that Terry?

Thanks,
