I asked the following question on the WordPerfect X5 news group but have
not received and answer. I thought I would try here.

I currently use Thunderbird 3.0.5. If I purchase the WordPerfect Home
and Student edition (which does not include Thunderbird), and I download
the WordPerfect add on for Thunderbird will this integrate the same as
Thunderbird with the WordPerfect Standard Edition.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is this the add on you mean?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/80208/ Mozilla
Thunderbird Configuration for WordPerfect Office 1.0

I've read the comparison .pdf between the student and standard.- Compare
versions
http://www.corel.com/content/pdf/wpox5/wpox5_version_comparison_matrix_en.pdf

I've read the standard's promotional for the Tbird integration here
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Content/1273525776585
What's New in WordPerfect® Office X5 - A customized version of Mozilla's
Thunderbird email and calendaring application is included with
WordPerfect Office X5. -- Thunderbird for WordPerfect Office X5 also
includes a tightly integrated calendar so you can perform all of your
email related calendaring tasks, like scheduling meetings (see Figure 4)
and responding to event invitations. Here is a great demo video if you
want a closer look.

My guess is that the standard edition has a more comprehensive Tbird
integration than you would have if you just use Tbird + WP student. I
don't think the addon above adds much of anything from its description.

Whether the difference in integration is worth the difference in cost
from $100 to $250 would have to be judged by someone who had experienced
both ways.

There are a lot of calendaring apps and addons for Tbird that don't have
anything to do with WP.

Thanks for the reply. I agree I not sure if it is worth the extra cost.
I believe all the download of the add on does is add Lighting calendar
app to Thunderbird and change the name at the top of the program. In the
standard version, I believe the address book is supposed to integrate
with WordPerfect quite well. I was wondering if that would be the case
with the Home and Student version.

Can works this way:

Install first your own TB
Then install WP. At this point can be alternative keep TB or replace
with Corel TB version.
