I initiated a copy of some email messages from one IMAP folder to
another. For some reason the server keep throwing an error.
Unfortunately, Thunderbird won't stop trying to copy the messages. I
tried closing and reopening Thunderbird, rebooting my computer and
even downloading it again and intalling it. But it keep trying to
copy the files and hanging up. How can I kill that task? Is there a
secret task manager where I can stop that copy command? Or a file
that I can delete to kill it?
thanks

what is the error?

unfortunately, those steps were unlikely to solve the problem. could
this be a permissions problem?

what vers Tbird are you using? might you be confusing copying with
another process going on?

Here is the error message:
"The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded:UID
COPY "Saved/2009" Failed."

(I am copying messages to a folder named: Saved/2009)

And no matter what I do it keep coming back. I am running Thunderbird
3.0.3

There must be a hidden task list somewhere that I can delete this
command.....
thanks

not likely.

shutdown thunderbird.

delete the .msf file associated with the imap folder for which you are
getting the repeats. the .msf file contains playback information for
incomplete and offline operations.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird describes the
profile folder where you'll find the directories that contain your folders.
