I have a folder named Draft, and a folder named Drafts on my IMAP account.
If I go to my profile folder and delete the draft.msf and drafts.msf files,
and restart Tbird, they both reappear. The account settings only point to a
Drafts folder. How do I delete the Draft folder?

Have you tried, in Thunderbird, just doing a right-click on the
folder in question then selecting "delete"?

Your approach should work too, but you're deleting the wrong file.
Look for Draft, not Draft.msf.

You may find that the server in question defaults to Draft whereas
Thunderbird defaults to Drafts. It may be easier to go with the
flow and use Draft because Thunderbird will allow you to nominate
which folder to use, while the server may be less inclined to
accede to your wishes.

I have similar experiences with Sent and Sent Items. The server
will re-assert Sent Items, regardless of my preference, so
that's what I set Thunderbird to use.

No delete on right click. Under File, the delete is grayed out for both. In
the profile, there is a draft.msf and drafts.msf, but no folders for
either.

Chris,
I changed the setting in Account properties to Draft, and then I was able
to delete the Drafts folder, and upon restarting, the Drafts folder did not
reappear. Very strange, but that is what happened.

In your profile there should be FILES named Draft and Drafts, not
folders, which represent/are the folders in your TB. Only folders with
sub-folders will have folders. So, if you created a sub-folder called
TEST under Draft in TB it will create a new folder in your profile's
ImapMail folder called Draft. In it will be a file TEST.msf. If you drag
emails into TEST they will be in the new Draft folder.
