I just found this one and it works great with TB ver. 68.3:

https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/phoenity-buttons/

It doesn't have all the buttons that the older extension had, but that's
probably because of limitations brought about by webextension APIs. On
the other hand, it has a cool "Profile" button that I really like.

Nice.

It's not a pure webextension, BTW, it's a 'legacy' XUL addon, which is
supported in TB68. So under current TB plans it will need to be
converted to a proper webextension for the next release (TB 76).

It's the same as 'Use BCC Instead C' - which I converted for 68. That
will not work in beta 71 because of continuing changes in TB, and will
require a complete rewrite for 76.

You are correct, but the next release will be 78.0.

Mozilla is releasing Firefox every 4 weeks now. Their next ESR will be 78.0.

And since the goal in Firefox is to completely eliminate XUL,
Thunderbird will undoubtedly be following suit and making the extension
impossible to implement.

Well. That squelches my happiness quite thoroughly. I also use and
depend on "Use BCC Instead C".

Guess I'll just go to a bar and try to drink myself to death.*

*Just kidding, I don't drink.

But... but... we're talking about Thunderbird.

Thunderbird releases are coupled to Firefox ESR releases

Fine, but that's all about FF, not TB.
