Simple question: As I am currently getting active on a specific
newsserver you all know ;-) I really should start organising it.
However, when I try to create a second newsaccount, with the same
server, it says me that it cannot create it because there is already an
account with the same server ...
Is this intentional behaviour, or is it possible to have two or more
newsgroupaccounts using the same server?
Thank you in advance

Sebastian,
To add other groups, go to the server's account and subscribe to
additional newsgroups. You don't have to add the server again.
Here's how: Click on the name of the server, then on the right side,
select "manage newsgroup subscriptions." From there, click the + sign
to the left of the groups listed until you find the ones you want. You
can then subscribe or unsubscribe, or search for the one you want.

There is a news server X, which serves multiple *categories* (like gmane
for instance).
Now, because I am active on both category A and B (themselves existing
out of groups), I'd like to have this:
+Category A on server X
... Newsgroup 1
... Newsgroup 2
... etc
+Category B on server X
... Newsgroup 3
... Newsgroup 4
... etc
See what I mean?
Thanks

This cannot be done.
However, on this server at least, there is an alias, news.mozilla.com.
You can set one category of groups on the alias and the other on
news.mozilla.org.
For other servers, its one account per server.

In Thunderbird, users can't create more than one account per server
name; but if you can find another name for the same server, that should
work. In addition, using the server's IP address should also work.
