I'm trying to access an attachment to an email I ORIGINATED and I'm getting this message.

"This attachment is a MAPI 1.0 embedded message and is not supported by this mail system".

I don't understand why this would happen and I can't retrieve the original excel document because is likely saved on an old computer.

Is there any way to retrieve?

Try a Microsoft mail product such as Outlook which uses the MS MAPI
technology.

Is the attachment "winmail.dat"? Try this add-on:

Outlook to avoid this problem.

What exactly do you mean by 'message' when you say 'I'm getting this
message'?

Never seen that message before, and I don't think installing Lookout
will help, as it seems to be a server based 'message'. What mail server
is this happening with?
