Hi All,

Is there a paper out there somewhere that describes
how Thunderbird does OAuth2 authentication with SMTP
servers? A framework they follow?

Many thanks,

Look at https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6749, it is the RFC for OAuth2.
RFC stands for "Request For Comment" and is the type of document used to
publish internet standards. I found this by entering "OAuth2 RFC" into a
net search engine. The RFC documents used to be managed and published
through USC ISI but I have no idea who is responsible today.
