I'm switching from Seamonkey to Thunderbird.

I have more than one address book in the Main address book.
I did import the abook.mab but all the separate address books came in as
one, all mixed together.

How do I get complete Seamonkey address book with separate address books
into Thunderbird?

Not sure if I worded my question correctly?

You have more than one address book in the SeaMonkey address book?

I see "Personal Address Book" and "Collected Addresses".

I would select each address book and use Tools > Export to export each
address book individually.

Then open the address book in Thunderbird and use Tools > Import to
import them.

Unfortunately this will create duplicate Personal and Collected books.
You will have to select the addresses in the newly created books, then
drag and drop them into the default Personal and Collected books in
Thunderbird. Then delete the imported books.

Why not create extra Address Books in addition to 'Personal' and
'Collected'?

This group discussed that recently.... Address Book > File > New >
Address Book... and give it a name of choice. And repeat.

That sets up extra <abook.mab> files in the user profile, which seem
to follow a rule of <abook-1.mab> <abook-2.mab> etc.

AFAIK, SeaMonkey allows the same (according to hints for exporting).

But like you, I'm puzzled by the OP's claim to have more than one
address book 'inside' what he calls his Main one.

I wonder if he means 'Lists'?

I guess I meant separate lists:
I did import the abook.mab but all the separate address LISTS came in as
one, all mixed together.

Ah, that makes more sense... but still I'm puzzled.

If you've created lists, AFAIK the individual addresses will exist
outside those lists as well.

For me, the 'name' I've assigned a list ends up positioned
alphabetically within my Personal Address Book.

Are you sure you're not looking at 'Collected Addresses'?

I did get one huge list
I did make new lists and moved the appropriate ones from the large list.
BUT names on 2 of my major lists from SM are missing entirely.

Finally figured it out (smile).
The import window rows need to be in the same order
as the columns in the spread sheet.
