Very strange this will not work in Vista (for me) even though I it
says "vista mail" in the help-About and the Local Folders screen.
If I plug my U3 stick in my Vista Computer and try to start
Thunderburd I first get two screens to conform and then the error that
\thunderburd\thunderburd.exe is not be found.
What do I do wrong?

Exactly what happened here - with both Tbird and Firefox. But later on -
after turning off 'User Account Control' - it did work.
However, I don't see why turning UAC off should make a difference here.

It supposed to work on every computer, man can not expect that all
vista computers have turned off their 'User Account Control'
???
Will I be able to turn on the 'User Account Control' again in the next
update... maybe??

Maybe not. I think the UAC come into this with U3 because the programs on
the U3 drive have not been 'installed', Vista wise, and so if UAC is on
then Vista tries to protect you from some evil program being executed,
whereas with UAC off you are allowing that.
But it doesn't explain why - of the 4 programs I have on the U3 drive -
one (a Sudoku program) would work with UAC on, but the others (Firefox,
Thunderbird, OpenOffice) would not.
Also, I have a suspicion that any programs installed under Vista with UAC
off will not then run with UAC on...

There's some interesting reading on the subject of UAC at the following:
