I like to sort my mail inbox by date/time. Sometimes a message comes in
from someone whose computer's clock is somewhat out of touch with
reality. Like this message I got yesterday, dated April 22, 2006. This
thing is going to sit at the top of my inbox until Sunday. Is there some
way to change that message's date/time to correspond with, well, my
reality at least?

The Header Tools extension will do that.
