There is an empty Inbox folder inside the Trash bolder. I do not see any
way to delete it, How can I get rid of it?

Also, I looked in the profile mail folder and found, except for
Inbox.msf, Inbox-1.msf, Inbox-2.msf,... Inbox-6.msf, and, except for
Trash.msf, Trash-1.msf,... Trash-8.msf. These additional files were
mostly created around certain days in the past. Should I delete them?

Yes, you can delete all the *.msf files, but you must shut down Tbird
first. These are the index files for the mail boxes ("folders"). When
you restart Tbird, they will be rebuilt.

That Inbox folder inside Trash may reappear. If so, shut down Tbird, and
look for a folder labelled Trash.sbd. This should have both a Trash file
and that Inbox file. Rename that Inbox file to something else
(WierdStuff, maybe?), delete its *.msf file, then restart Tbird. Open
the Trash folder, and drag the WierdStuff folder onto the account name.
It will now appear as a separate folder. Look inside it, in case there's
messages you want to save. Then delete it.

BTW, the only real folders shown within Tbird are the ones with
subfolders. All others are actually files, in which the messages are
stored in sequence.
