1) Write to an ldap server from the Thunderbird Address book.
2) Make that Thunderbird recognize correctly the lists (groupofnames)
that are defined on a ldap server.
I wasn't able to solve these problems.

Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0.4 here.
Click left panel into your account, and right panel click in Admin Identitys
Select your default account and do Edit option.
Then go Redaction and Address folder. Here you can see the adddress
validate into LDAP option.

This way I can choose the desired LDAP server, but I don't find an
option to make that the entries in the ldap server turn to
read-and-write insted as read-only as default.
