Hi. Most of the monospace messages sent in this mailing list for example
are usually too small to read. I can fix it with ctrl-+, but I have to
do this for every thread and every time I open Thunderbird.

Is there any way to permanently set the zoom level to a higher value
than default so that I don't ever have to manually zoom in again?

I've already tried changing my font preferences, setting a minimum font
size and a bigger monospace font size but they make no difference?

Thanks

I suspect you haven't changed the font sizes for the particular encoding
used in these messages.

Tools|Options|Display|Formatting->Advanced

For your english-language messages, I'd suggest you set the sizes under
both "Latin" and "Other Writing Systems". If you correspond using any
other (non-Latin based) languages, select and set them too.
