I have tried to import opml files to Thunderbird 38.3.0 on Xubuntu 15.10
- 64 that were generated by claws-mail rsssyl plugin. Thunderbird import
says it is an invalid file.
I then tried an Rssowl opml export but thunderbird only imports the
directory folders and file names with no url data imported.
Anyone have a way to fix this?
Thanks

The wp article on opml and this article say that Tb supports the format

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-subscribe-news-feeds-and-blogs
If you have a list of feed urls exported in the OPML format to a file,
perhaps from another feed reader, you may Import them using Tools |
Import | Feed Subscriptions. Choose either a new or existing Feeds Account.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OPML Support for OPML is available in
Mozilla Thunderbird, and many other RSS reader web sites and
applications can both import and export OPML files of subscriptions.

wp article also sez; Due to the arbitrary nature of the "type"
attribute, and the acceptance of arbitrary attributes on "outline"
elements, interoperability of OPML documents relies almost entirely on
the undocumented conventions of content producers.

What it sez and what happens are 2 different things. Mr. E is right, the
import doesn't work the way it sez. :-)
