Maybe I just can't see it, but I can't find how to delete repeated events.  Right clicking on an event brings up a "Delete Event" option, but it only deletes that instance of the event.  Same with the "Delete" button.  The next instances are still there.

Open the event, and File > Exit closes Thunderbird, not just the event - the event is unchanged.  Selecting Edi brings up a query as to whether I want to edit just this occurrence or the whole series, but no option to delete the whole series.  My calendar is getting full of old accumulated events, since the old repeat events keep repeating.  How do you get rid of them?

Looking at Googele Groups apparently not since rachlamm's post is the
first response to the OP posted on 2010-01-06 by John Fossey.

To delete repeated events you can right-click the event in the Today
Pane or calendar and select "Delete all occurrences" from the pop-up
window, or select the event in either location and press the Del key and
select the same option from the pop-up.

I don't know why John did not see that pop-up. He says he did get the
pop-up when he went to Edit a repeated event.

Actually it was 2010-01-26, and he probably would have gotten
responses if he had posted his question to m.s.calendar instead.

Back then John was using TB 2.0.0.22. Were the menus and options
the same in the associated version of Lightning then as they are in
the current version?

Damn reading skills of a 3-yr old strike again! LOL!

Seems there were several versions of Lightning that are listed as
compatible with TB 2.0.0.* on AMO, so who knows. He did not mention what
version of Lightning he was using.

Testing Windows TB 2.0.0.22 with Lightning 0.9, I see a pop-up for
deleting a repeated event with the choice to "Delete all occurrences".

Not going to test the older versions. Off to uninstall both from my PC.
