to Mozilla TBird
TBird 31.4.0 in Linux Mint-Xfce 17.1

I have a really strange problem. I'm a relative Linux newbie, so keep
that in mind.

My TBird has an Extension called "Folderpane Tools 0.6.1". It used to
work before I upgraded. Now when I attempt to open
'Add-ons Manager' > 'Extensions' > 'Folderpane Tools 0.6.1' > [Preferences]
I see this:

> chrome://folderpane/content/folderpanePref.xul
>
> XML Parsing Error: undefined entity Location:
> chrome://folderpane/content/folderpanePref.xul Line Number 263,
> Column 19:
>
> <menuitem label="&filemessageschoosethis.label;"

(Column 19 points to the '<' in "<menuitem", but TBird doesn't honor
plain-text so I can't show it. Actually, I can simulate it as follows:

> . . . . . . . . . <menuitem label="&filemessageschoosethis.label;"
> ------------------^

you know, debugger-style pointer.)

I don't know what to make of
"undefined entity Location".

I don't know what to make of
'chrome://folderpane/content/folderpanePref.xul'.
Well, it's a special protocol statement like 'about:config', but where is
'/folderpane/content/folderpanePref.xul'?
There is no such path & no such file. I would say that 'no such path or
file' is maybe what TBird is complaining about, but then I don't know
what to make of
"Line Number 263, Column 19"
as it's pretty hard to complain about a particular line and offset in a
file that can't be found, eh? Also, it's pretty hard to list the
contents of a particular line in a file that can't be found. So I
searched and...

...it can't be found!!!!

-1- I searched the entire disk for '*.xul'. Here's the result:

/usr/share/linuxmint/mint-search-addon/content/script-compiler-overlay.xul
/usr/share/mime/application/vnd.mozilla.xul+xml.xml

(Note that all but two are associated with FFox, and the remaining two
are not associated with TBird.)

-2- Except for '/dev' & '/proc', I searched the entire disk for all files
containing the string "&filemessageschoosethis". The string was not found.

I suspect that this is actually a TBird bug and has nothing to do with
Folderpane Tools.

Not having Folderpane Tools is not a total tragedy, just a minor
irritant. But it would be very nice to get Folderpane Tools back.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank You.

the extension is no longer maintained, and causes problems in current
versions...

Dump it.

One replacement is: 'Manually Sort Folders'

Thanks so much. I'll give it a try.
