How do set the account so that it closes the
original email once I replied to it.

You can use 'Buttons! 0.5.3.2' extension :
"http://www.chuonthis.com/extensions/buttons.php" .
After Installing this
extension , open any message in 'new window'. Right click on its Toolbar
and select Customize . You will find three buttons 'reply' , 'reply all'
, 'forward' . You can put them in separate location or use them to
replace default 'reply' , 'reply all' , 'forward' in that new window.
From now use those buttons.
