But over time, I've had to add and delete members from the group, and
it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep the group current. If I
could sort or print or even copy and paste the contents of my group to
a text editor, I could at least update it easily. But I haven't found
a way to do any of those operations.
The ability to create a "smart group" would greatly simplify matters.
For instance, I've added the text: "volunteer (active)" to one of the
Custom fields in the address card for each member of my distribution
list. I'd like to make a "smart group" containing all cards matching
that text. Is there an easy way to do something like that?
Thanks!
If you don't have a problem to edit contact information in an MS excel
or Open Office then you can export any address book/ mailing list in
'Comma separated' format. You can easily open using above mentioned
applications and edit it from there. Once modification is completed you
can import it to Address book.
If everything goes correctly, then delete current content of mailing
list. Copy all contacts from imported address book and paste it in
mailing list. At the end, remove imported address book.
