Hello. Using TB 8.0, I am connecting to my main yahoo account via imap
server imap-ssl.mail.yahoo.com port 993. I don't want to download to
local. Everything seems to work fine, but I had a question on handling
bulk mail. Currently I am having TB subscribe to it so it downloads. I
know I can unsubscribe and just handle it through the online interface,
but I like to at least scroll through it to look for anything caught up.

Anyway, my question, TB doesn't seem to recognize "bulk mail" as a
folder where I can right click on the folder and empty the contents like
you can with the trash folder or it's own built in junk folder. How
could I go about adding to the context menu of this folder "empty junk"
or bulk, etc? Right now I have to select all, delete then empty from
trash. Or is there a way to direct the bulk to the junk folder on local?

Thank you.

You could use the standard imap.mail.yahoo.com server instead.

Now, to answer your question: go to the "Account Settings" and then to "Junk Settings" where you check "Move new junk messages to:" and choose "Other:".

In the "Other:" pull down menu, select the Yahoo IMAP account and then its folder "Bulk Mail". Now, OK it and you're done

By so doing, Thunderbird's "Junk Folder" becomes "Bulk Mail".
