Thx.
There's a "Quick Filter Bar" at the top of the message list pane. You
have hidden it. See
<http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Quick+Filter+Toolbar>.
In it, there's a button to only display messages that are starred.

Aha! Thanks.
Seems a shame to waste an entire line just to be able to display
starred-only.

But you can grow/shrink the width of the line in order to "fit". ;-)

There a couple of other ways you can do it.
You can set up a custom view setting, by going to
View-->Messages-->Customize.
* If you don't have "View-->Messages" you nee to add the "Mail
Views" item to the toolbar.
Create a new View.
Name it whatever you want (e.g. Starred).
Set it to [Status][is][Starred].
You can also use the Search function at Edit-->Find-->Search_Messages,
and use the same settings as above. From there, you can even save it as
a Search Folder, which is virtual folder that appears in the folder list.
See <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Saved_Search>.
