Hi all

Apologies if this is a repeat....

I would like to automatically insert a horizontal line under my reply.
Preferably without having to have to fiddle about with my signature.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mike,

1. A horizontal line would require you to use HTML. That is frowned on
in most newsgroups.

2. You could use hyphens (-------) or underscore (_____________), but
don't use more than the auto wrapping width of most clients which is 72
characters (fixed width not proportional). And that would have to be
inserted using a sig file to be automatic. So if you don't want to
fiddle with that, I don't know what else to suggest.

Well if you're composing an email message in HTML, you have to do
Insert\Horizontal Line. But you have to do that manually each time.

This is a special case of the more general issue of email templates. It
would be nice to be able to define standard templates for email messages
in HTML, such as fancy letterhead stationary forms for emails you send
to your clients or customers. So that when you hit Compose, the
template is automatically inserted for you. I've seen some discussion
of such a feature being added to TB 2.0. Maybe if we make enough noise
it will happen.
