I keep pressing Ctrl+Return by accident, which can be rather
embarrassing, and I would therefore like to disable this shortcut.

Thanks to "Good Guy" for the reminder of the Keyconfig extension in the
Firefox group, where I had accidentally posted this query.

In the meantime installed the "Dorando keyconfig" add-on
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dorando-keyconfig/) in
Thunderbird, and it seems surprisingly straightforward to use!

However, Crtl+Enter is labelled as "Save and Close" in the list of
shortcuts, and there is already another entry for "Save and Close"
(Ctrl+L) - hmmm.

I disabled Ctrl+Enter, but the "disablement" doesn't seem to work, i.e.
I tried it with a test message, and Ctrl+Enter is still in "Send Now
mode" 😵

Any comments?

If I/we can't get to the bottom if it here, I'll send the add-on author
(Jonathan Kamens) an email.

IIRC Keyconfig keeps different configs for each window environment. If
you want to configure the "write" window, you need to be in one when you
run keyconfig.

Yes. Click "Write" to start a new message. Then click Tools > keyconfig
and set "Send now" to disabled.
