For Win2K or XT or Win 7.

Hi Experts,

Will copying the NTUSER.DAT profile for User1 and pasting it into the
NTUSER.DAT of User2 make the two OSs identical? Will the names be
identical then? If not, I guess that 2 could replace 1 in the name, if
the names needed changing.

TIA

I dont think so. To "clone" a XP user, all files and folders of Config
and Setting/user must be copied. I mean mayor folders: My images, my
documents, my videos, the email repository.
Don forget the Favorite items, all desktop preferences, name user
(account) of skype, TB, OE, etc etc.

NTUSER.DAT is a "Registry hive" that supplies all the user-specific info
in the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" branch of the registry, when that user logs in:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/146050

Many user-specific software settings are kept there,
but most TB-related settings are instead kept in a "prefs.js" file
within TB-specific "profile folders."

Questions about copying and/or modifying _Windows_ user profiles
and/or Registry hives might best be researched in Windows forums,
because Windows is a "Pandora's box," particularly when it comes
to messing around with its Registry.
