drag-and-drop problem (TB7, Linux)

The drag-and-drop function on Thunderbird 7.0 (Linux) works irregularly. It allows you to attach several files, than it begins to ignore the files you drop. Somehow it depends on the point where you drop the file on the attachments area, but I have failed to establish the rule.

Ask on the relevant Linux distro group. My wild guess is that it could
be that you're running a Gnome version on KDE or versa visa.

FWIW, normally the target area is square, and the active region is at or
near the NW corner. Eg, the point of the mouse pointer is at the NW
corner of its active area. Thus, dragging the object SE --> NW should do
the trick. But don't quote me on that. ;-)
