Dear All,

I am using TB3 where I have a Gmail IMAP account. I am however
experiencing serious delays when I attempt to send emails using the
smtp server of Gmail. The configuration I have is according to Gmail's
suggestion and has as follows:

Server name: smtp.googlemail.com
Port: 465
User name and password (that is ticked)
Connection security: SSL/TLS

Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve my delivery times?
Internet connection is not an issue. I don't have a firewall.

Regards,

Pavlos

Use your own ISP's smtp server? That's what I do.

Thank you Wilf but that is not possible. I work at a University for
which I was given a Microsoft Outlook Exchange account and I can't use
that with TB since TB does not work with Outlook Exchange. It would be
ideal if someone could enlighten me about how to configure an MOE
account on TB. And my ISP, Vodafone.de does not offer email addresses
to have an smtp (and of course a username and password). Thus, I am
stuck with Gmail's smtp which is to my experience problematic.

Any other suggestions guys either on this problem or on how to
configure an Exchange account on TB?

Best,

Pavlos

Actually, whenever I've had such problems I've used my (occasional use)
hotmail account smtp server. If you have a hotmail account try
pop3.live.com port 995 ssl with your username and password to authenticate
