I see that Thunderbird v. 60 (64-bit) is now available for download.
If I install it, will all my 32-bit settings/customizations be imported
too?

IME yes, but note the 64bit is/was only a candidate release, where are
you seeing 64bit release versions?

Not all add-ons may work, see Wayne's description here on 22nd July

I see it here:
<https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/60.0/win64/>

Nothing on that page seems to indicate that it is a RC...

But there does seem to be a 64bit windows version on the ftp server (GB
locale too) so I'll upgrade from the candidate1 version ...

While it is true that I sometimes use Linux, my question pertains to a
PC that has Microsoft Windows 10 and the 32-bit version of Thunderbird
installed.

Well, the 60.0 (64bit) has upgraded my candidate1 version ok, I suppose
as there's no announcement, the 64bit is still "experimental" but has
been good for me for 2 weeks ...

A Windows 32-bit version 60. Not a 64--bit build of version 60.

"Please note that while the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows can be
used to run Thunderbird, only 32-bit builds of Thunderbird are supported
at this time."

understood. Is that down to lack of exposure/testing, or are there
known issues?

manpower, priorities, testing, possible mapi issue

That said, we welcome users to test it. I just wish people would stop
saying it's been released or is supported.

A first result of my testing Tb 60 x64:
Unfortunately the excellent add-on "Manually sort folders" does not work
in the 64-bit version which means a major drawback.

Doesn't work? or doesn't like the version number?
if the latter you could try editing the maxver in install.rdf

It's installed and extensions.strictCompatibility is set to false.
"Manually sort folders" starts, but it shows no folders or accounts to sort.

The question is: doesn't work because of version 60.0
or doesn't work because of 64-bit?

I wager you a beer 64bit has nothing to do with that add-on not working.

Thanks.
According to
<https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/manually-sort-folders/>
it works with Thunderbird versions 45.0 - 63.0.
And so it seems to be the recent 64-bit version of TB 60 it refuses to
work with.

You'd win - same behavior in my 32 bit system.

The extension is broken for quite a while, also for the 32-bit version.
For TB60 the author just bumped up the version compatibility, but didn't
fix the underlying problem. I'm not holding my breath for a fix, it
looks like it's been abandoned by now.
The extension should be removed from the add-ons site IMV.
