trying to retrieve lost mail archive...

during a simple transfer of my mail archive from one computer to
another.. part of the archive went missing... since i have not yet
compacted the folders i am using this method to attempt to recover the
mail from the files...

however... some of the changes suggested have produced no retrievable
results...
