Is it possible to merge two thunderbird mail
storages ? If so, how ?

This is on Windows 7 x64 using TB 13.0.1.

Thanks,
Lynn

Do you mean you want to take messages from two accounts and put them in
the same folder? Just use Thunderbird to drag and drop messages.

No. I have TB on one pc with a mail storage and
TB on another pc with mail storage. I want to
merge the two mail storages one pc and get rid of
the other pc.

One mail storage is present email. The other
email storage is old email before May that was
stored in outlook express.

The new pc is Windows 7 x64. The old pc is
Windows XP that just got resurrected.

Thanks,
Lynn

Outlook Express? Then your question isn't "two thunderbird mail storages".
For Outlook Express, you will have to use its Export features, then copy
to new computer and then "Merge" from that exported file. Tools > Import

Sorry, I have no Windows computers here to examine how OE exports.

OE doesn't *export* AFAIK. But the good news is, you can install
TB on the old machine an make it *import* the OE stuff. Then
proceed.

See? I said I've no Windows computers! I haven't seen OE for about a
dozen years...

Your 'install Tbird and import' is a good idea.

1. On your destination PC, create sub-folders in the Local Folders
account for each folder you want to import.

2. On your old PC, open Thunderbird, go to
Help-->Troubleshooting_Information, click on [Open Containing Folder],
and close Thunderbird. That will open your profile folder in Windows
Explorer.

3. In your profile, go to the \Mail\ folder, then the folder for the
account you want to import. It should be named after the server. (For
example /Mail/pop.mail.yahoo.com/)

4. Copy the files in that folder to a USB stick or whatever you're using
to transfer the data from one computer to the other.

5. On your destination PC, open Thunderbird, go to
Help-->Troubleshooting_Information, click on [Open Containing Folder],
and close Thunderbird. That will open your profile folder in Windows
Explorer.

6. In your profile, go to the \Mail\ folder, then the \Local Folders\
folder.

7. There should be files for each folder you want to import that you
created in step 1. In this step replace the those files with the ones
from your USB stick. They should have the same names.

8. Open Thunderbird. In your Local Folders account, you should see
folders/messages from your old computer. At that point, you can drag and
drop the messages to your new account.
