It would appear that the Save All option (for attachments) is now longer
working, i.e. it is greyed out.

I get the impression that this happened after I upgraded to 2.0.0.18.

Can someone confirm this?

Thanks for the confirmation.

I don't use the other once, but I use Save All all the time, so this
situation is not good!

How do I get back to 2.0.0.17?

The Attachment Extractor extension still works.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of this extension but I just tried it and it does
indeed work.

Just one issue: If I understand the options correctly, it is suppose to
"ask me each time" where I want to save the attachments. It didn't do
that but instead saved the attachments to the My Documents folder
(although I realise I can specify a location via Extract All to)

Should I report it as a bug for 2.0.0.18?

I've never used that option, so I can't say whether or not that's a bug.

I just realised that Attachment Extractor added a button to the toolbar,
which is nice.

However, selective extraction doesn't seem to work, i.e. if I select 2
of 4 attachments and click "Exctract Selected Attachments to" it
extracts all 4 :-(

Hi Herb,

I just tried this and can confirm Save All is grayed out in .18. BUT, I
selected all the attachments using Ctrl-click and then clicked Save As,
TB then proceeded to save each one individually. I just had to click OK
each time which is auto-selected.

Hi Terry,

Thanks for looking into this.

However, I'm not keen on having to select all attachments every time I
want to save more than one attachment :-(

The Attachment Extractor extension works well (apart from the apparent
minor glitches I reported earlier).

Thanks, but I'm not quite sure what you mean.

In any case, see my reply to Terry's message.

Herb , can you confirm that it is available in these following situations
"https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466060#c0"

Unfortunately My distro hasn't yet released ver 20.0.18 so I can't test
here.

I do see that it is available through File, Attachments, Save All, but
not on the right-click, where it saves time and is more intuitive.

Hopefully this isn't the Devs once again thinking they know what is best.

Interesting, thank you.

Yes, I see the context menu to the right of the attachments when no
attachment is selected!

Are they talking about TB 3?

In which case it seems they introduced an obscure TB 3 'feature' in
2.0.0.18 =-O

Do you want to leave a comment pointing this out, or do you want me to
do it?

And I just realized that Save All is not grayed out for me. Or at least
it wasn't in a recent email with attachments.

AE has some quirks, as you've found out, but it's updated regularly, so
hopefully those will disappear over time.

I think the last time I offered shortcuts in a post, it created quite a

That bug is for TB3, and the fixes will apply only to TB3
This is because trunk has a complete new "message viewer" pane.

Thanks - so is it worth creating a bug report for this for 2.0.0.18?

Thanks, but I have a feeling we are talking across purposes.

In any case, I think the issues has probably been sufficiently addressed
in the other replies, or am I missing something?

fwiw, I noticed this for the first time today, trying to save multiple
attachments.

Also noticed if I right click in an area away from the attachments, and
no attachments are 'picked' (highlighted), save all is available in the
context menu.
Irritating but a workaround...
