One is IMAP, the other local.
I have a third one on my desktop.

There's a separate set of folders, including Trash, for each account.

I have a set for hotmail, local (pop), and RSS feeds. I used to have
another set for Gmail, too, until I set it to use the local folders
inbox. I don't know whether or not IMAP accounts can be set that way.

It does look a tad confusing to me. Most of my accounts are POP, but I
have a GMail account in IMAP. Its folders are:

-------------------
Inbox
- a couple of sub-folders
Drafts
Sent
Junk
Trash

[GMail]
- All Mail
- Drafts
- Sent Mail
- Spam
- Starred
- Trash
Personal
Receipts
Travel
Work
------------------------

More folders than you can shake a stick at......

I have two IMAP accounts. One of them (hosted on my own server) has just
the expected allotment of folders; that is, only one trash folder. My
gmail IMAP account is similar to that outlined above; one "Trash" folder
at the top level folder heirarchy, and a second one hidden under the
[gmail] heirarchy. The one on the top-level heirarchy has just an
ordinary folder icon, and no "Empty Trash" option on the MB2 pop-up
menu; the one buried in the [gmail] has the "trash bin" icon and the
option to "Empty Trash" in the MB2 menu.

This is looking like a gmail anomoly to me.
