I having problems with my facebook account and instantbird.
I cant connect.
Why?

Unfortunately Facebook disabled the mechanism we were using to connect
to them. Check out
http://blog.instantbird.org/2016/01/facebook-chat-issues/ for more
information.
We're working to fix the issue, but it requires writing a new protocol
from scratch and we work on Instantbird in our spare time...so it's
taking longer than we wanted.
