Filter WWW-authenticate before it gets to Mozilla's password manager?

Just say, for instance, you were seeing :

WWW-authenticate: basic realm="my realm [msec-timestamp]"

back from a web server.

Where would I start looking to enable me to filter the realm, and get
password manager to store:

"my realm", password

but reply "my realm [msec-timestamp]", password.

i.e. it's really the password manager's lookup / insert per host that
would need the filter capability

Is there any chance I could pluging / script this, or is it really a
part of the core password manager?
