The problem is that I have some 4 5 tabs opened, and if I close ff, it
doesn't allow me to close with those tabs opened. I have set it to take
my confirmation while closing with more than one tab.
So, I have to close all the tabs, close it, restart it, and then open
all those again by locating their urls.
it would have been convenient if I could crash ff, so that next time it
would have restored all those tabs automatically. Any method to do so?
in TB, there is a restart button in extensions window. I couldn't find
such a button in ff. Is it there somewhere?

You can install the extension Tab Mix Plus. This includes a feature called
Session Manager, and allows you to save your last two sessions. This way,
when you close with 45 tabs, it asks you if you want to save the session.
Click yes, and the next time you open Firefox, you're prompted to open using
the last session, or open a new session. Hope this helps.

I have the MrTech Local Install extension that appears to add a Restart
Icon to the custom toolbar dialog as well as adding a restart item to the
menu bar Files drop down. This swiss-army-knife extension also includes
some of the Nightly Tester Tools capability, Ext & Theme Manager tweaking,
and some Tools menu item selecting.

Don't be a fonted, it's just type casting.
The Restart Firefox extension is what you need.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1249/
Toolbar icon + entry under the FILE menu. Option to ask confirmation or
restart as soon as button is pressed, configurable by user.

It's 12 June 2006, 21:06 IST and I'm using Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 with
Enigmail 0.94 + GnuPG 1.4.3
If you don't want to add another extension, use the bookmark feature:
Bookmark All Tabs... (Ctrl+Shift+d)
Simple matter to drop the folder somewhere...
After you reopen FF, right click open in tabs then right click>delete
the folder.
(also useful when google chasing a problem and get off on a tangent or
want to put it off for another day...)

that does it. And that does much more than it. So pleasing.
I already had tab mix plus installed, only that I didn't know how to use
session manager.
I have set it to store
When Browser exits: save session
When Browser starts: ask before restoring
join multiple windows into one
reload all tabs
preserve windows and tabs: all options ticked.
And it is doing exactly what I had asked in this question.
And much more. There is an option to preserve closed tabs list. I have
switched that on. And now my all closed tabs list are coming intact in
the next session. That is so convenient. It is as if I had never closed
FF, as all my status are continuing intact from last session.
And much more. I had asked in another thread whether I can queue some
links for opening in ff. that was about rapidshare, etc. downloads in
which I had to open next link after the previous link got downloaded,
but if I open the next 5, 6 links already in ff, that would hog memory.
So, I now open the next 5-6 links in ff, and close ff. It is saving all
details and is freeing the main memory, I guess. And once, the current
link's download ends, I just start ff, and my all those 5-6 links come
opened intact in ff, and I can process next link without bothering to
search for that link first in some file having compilation of links.
thanks so much. My life is much more easier now.

Look for an extension simply called "SessionSaver".
Should find it at:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/436/
Hope that helps. Simple, and works every time.
