If I go to Fidelity.com and enter a stock ticker at the top of the page
and press 'Quotes', a small window pops up with the latest quotes and a
stock chart. For whatever reason the chart does not show. In its place
is a link "chart for ..." and clicking on that brings up a page with
more stock details and larger chart which also does not display. This
happens whether I login to Fidelity or not.

I've been using FF & Fidelity.com for years and this is the 2nd time
this has happened. The 1st time I fixed it by creating a new profile. I
don't want to create a new profile again because of all the
customization I have.

I've disabled all plugins and extensions and restarted FF to no avail.
The problem doesn't happen when using a new profile or in IE. JavaScript
is on. I can't remember when this started so I can't trace it back to
any updates but it was within the last month in which FF 18.0 and 18.0.1
were installed.

I'm really frustrated. Any ideas?? Thanks. ~ Bruce

Apparently written for MS?

Bruce, clear history and cache? Might do something but doubtful.
Locate localstore.rdf in your profile folder and rename/move it (with FF
closed). You will lose some settings but nothing critical and I don't
think anything as radical as a new profile. No change, move it back.

This change just came out of thin air or have you updated something?

That may be but that wouldn't explain why the charts show when using a
new profile.

Clearing history and cache had no affect. Renaming localstore.rdf also
had no affect.

Like I said this happened within the last month. When researching
updates done in January, I found these:
1/07/13 - Java 7 Update 10 (uninstalled on 1/8/13)
1/08/13 - TB 17.0.2, FF 18.0, MS monthly updates/patches
1/09/13 - Flash Player 11 plugin latest update
1/18/13 - Java 7 Update 11 (uninstalled on 1/20/13, decided I don't need
this right now,)
1/21/13 - FF 18.0.1
1/24/113 - MS Silverlight (uninstalling/reinstalling had no affect)

I don't believe any of the above is causing the problem.

As a test I started FF with a profile having this problem. Then I went
to Help->Troubleshooting Information and clicked the "Reset Firefox"
button. That let me see the charts but it also deleted all of the addons
and tab groups. I guess I could do the 'reset' and I could reinstall the
4-5 addons, but 1) I've have approx. 50 tabs in 8 tab groups that would
be difficult & time consuming to recreate (it might help if I knew where
these were stored), and 2) this doesn't tell me what causes the problem
- it just fixes the symptom until the next time.

Still open to suggestions. Thanks ~ Bruce

can't those be saved as a bookmark/group or some such beforehand? I'm
off to bed but there is that tiny square that appears in upper right
corner of a new blank tab that is used for something like this I think...
