I have an add (Kaspersky URL advisor) whose uninstall button is greyed
out. Normal uninstall procedure is not possible.
I have looked at the procedure for manually uninstalling add-ons.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_Uninstall_Extensions#Uninstalling_manually
In my profile, under the extensions folder I can only find the 14
extensions which are legit - no folder corresponds to Kaspersky add-on.
How do I get rid of this entry in the add-ons list?
Do you use Kaspersky and just want to remove the addon from Firefox,
or did you remove Kasperky and the addon stays in Firefox.
Disabling the extension should should effectively remove it's usage if
you can;'t uninstall it
I can't help you specifically, but I've found that in order to uninstall
AV installed as crapware (12 month licence) with a new computer is to visit the site
of a competitor AV application to obtain explicit removal instructions.
This forum reply on Kaspersky's site solution found by poster was to
reinstall Kaspersky then uninstall it again.

If that doesn't work try Google search on Kaspersky's site:
site:kaspersky.com uninstall url advisor firefox

AFAIK you'll need administrator rights for uninstalling.

No, I un-installed Kaspersky. But the add-on apparently stayed put.

Yes, but it remains on my list of add-ons. An eye-sore. Nothing more.

Useful, but over-the-top. I should not need to re-build a house, just to
remove the chimney, and then demolish the whole thing again?
[Solution] In the meantime - I have found the reason for the 'missing'
Kaspersky add-on folder. It was installed under the 'global' extensions
(accessible by all users - not just me). I just deleted that
(manuallly), and the entry disappeared.
Thanks for your help.

You should check in the Firefox application folder as well (it's often
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox").
There can be globally installed extensions in there.

Have you checked with Kaspersky support?
