I know that you said it is enabled, but just to make sure you're
referring to about:pluins, I'll ask anyway. In the location bar, enter
"about:plugins" (without the quotation marks). Among the listed
plug-ins, look to see if anything is assigned to WMA files.
Also, try Tools -> Options -> Downloads, and click on "View & Edit
Actions", to check if WMA is assigned to a plug-in there.

Yes to both questions. WMA is assigned to the Windows Media plug-in in
both places.
Check your file associations in Windows to make sure that the WMA file
type points to Windows Media Player (sounds like QMP took over that
function).
BTW, if you change the file association, even with QMP installed, FF
should display WMA files as normal. At least it does for me.

Opera handles the files just fine, so I do not think the file
associations are the problem.
For what it's worth, a different profile does play the .wma files just
fine. Whatever has happened, it has done something to my main profile.
I can't figure it out.

For what its worth, experience shows, in cases like this, its usually
easier to transfer the data to the new profile then to try and
troubleshoot what's wrong with the old one.

Somehow, I was afraid you were going to say that. :( It just bugs me
to no end that I can't figure it out.

Well, its up to you. Its a question of efficient use of time. If you
manage to find the problem quickly, great. I've just known so many
people to spend hours banging their heads against such things, it turns
out easier to transfer the data.
If you want to continue troubleshooting the main profile, we will
certainly continue to help in the process. Again, its up to you.

Well, right now I have some time to kill. ;) After reading what I have
attempted so far, where would you go next?
Also, the Launchy extension will play the .wma files from the right
click menu.
