Anyone else found the ADBhelper add-on silently installed without asking
permission? possibly since 63.0.1, last updated date shows as 2nd Nov.

I have "warn when install" ticked, and an empty whitelist. I have
"install studies" unticked.

No, not here. I just had the upgrade from 63.0 to 63.0.1.

Desktop or Android version of Firefox?

ADBHelper is the Android Debug Bridge Helper according to what I am
reading.

Desktop version, I also have android version on phone/tablet, but they
don't share a sync account, so it shouldn't have thought "It'll be handy
to install the helper because he has both"

Yes, I could see what it was, and that it's a legit add-on, but I think
add-ons should only be installed when *I* install them, if mozilla
wanted to suggest an add-on that would be fine with me, but doing it for
me when I've specifically told the browser to ask, and removed their
whitelisted sites is over-stretching the mark quite a way.

"Anyone who launches the webIDE gets the ADB helper"

Ah yes thanks, I did launch the webIDE, so that explains why I got it,
still doesn't explain how it bypassed the "ask before install" settings.

When I open Tools > Web Developer > WebIDE. I get a window with "Install
ADB Extension" at the top of the column on the right side of the window.

Not installing by default for me in Firefox Nightly 65.0a1, or my
Firefox 63.0.
