I have been looking for a way to reverse the order of bookmarks so the
newest show first. The options appear to be alphabetical, reverse
alphabetical or unsorted. Unsorted being oldest at the top of the list.
With this shared computer there are hundreds of bookmarks and making
folders is not an option. We would just like to list the newest at the top.

have you tried the "Add Bookmarks Here" add-on?

It would help to know where you are looking. Shortcuts shown here
assume you are on Windows.
* autocomplete list at the location bar ("awesomebar")
* bookmarks menu
* bookmarks sidebar (Ctrl+B)
* bookmarks Library list (Ctrl+Shift+B)

In the library list you sort a column by clicking on the column header
for {ascending | descending | unsorted }
by clicking, clicking again, or again to not sort (or use the View menu there).
You will have to do that each time though.

To permanently see a sorted arrangement (doesn't actually affect the
database) you should use the "SortPlaces" extension.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/9275/

For more information besides the extension and the author's home page, see

The "Add Bookmark Here ^2" extension is a must have, but is not the
solution to this problem (4 minutes from question to first answer is
remarkable, I would guess somebody's clock is off). I would also recommend
the "Stay Open Menu" as another unrelated extension that would help
with bookmarks (in menus).

I wanted the same thing because I use folders in Chrome for my bookmarks. I haven't found a way yet, but I did find you can up arrow and it takes you to the bottom instantly :] good enough for me so I don't have to scroll for days to get to the last thing I saved.

Boo on Google for not making it simple to set the default order, and c'mon the latest ones saved are most likely to be most relevant...duh!

Since the object of game is to appear to make things easier on the public but at the same time monitor the living daylights out of us so we can serve the master race which is the Jewish Zionist state of Israel the logic of having the bookmarks reversed is simple, it forces everyone to click on save to a specific folder or make a new folder that way they bastards know how our minds map things into different categories because with that knowledge it is easier to control us. I mean it may help us too but in reality it’s to spy on us. FU Israel Zionist! But don’t take my word for it read below the following passage then later discover which seven families wrote a piece of legislation that would enslave the world through Fiat money (the Federal Reserve Act 1913), that’s right the seven families were all Zionist. Two minutes after 911 happened Israel's PM was telling everyone that we (the rest of us) should take over the entire Middle East state by state so that the New World Order (Zionist New World Order, not ours!) could take place. Ya right… you would only know this if every main stream media company was not controlled by these people.

"Our race is the Master Race. We are divine gods on this planet. We are as different from the inferior races as they are from insects. In fact, compared to our race, other races are beasts and animals, cattle at best. Other races are considered as human excrement. Our destiny is to rule over the inferior races. Our earthly kingdom will be ruled by our leader with a rod of iron. The masses will lick our feet and serve us as our slaves." - Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin in a speech to the Knesset [Israeli Parliament] quoted by Amnon Kapeliouk, "Begin and the Beasts," New Statesman, June 25, 1982
