There is a setting in FF that will automatically start a live stream video in YOUTUBE without me having to click on the play icon. I am sure of that for several reasons. First, auto start works fine in Chrome, secondly, it worked fine in my prior versions of FF, and third, a couple of weeks ago, I inadvertently uninstall my FF and had to reinstall it. After the reinstall, my auto start stopped working.

I cannot find the setting. In my research, the settings that controlled the auto start only existed in earlier versions of FF. I am using FF 68.0.1. Any guidance that can be offered will most certainly be appreciated. Incidentally, auto start works fine on non-live stream videos.

Thanks much.

I don't think FF has any options that are specific to youtube, but this
is a handy add-on with more options that you can shake a stick at

Andy,

Thank you. I tried the extension you recommended and yes it did have a lot of options, however not the one that would resolve my issue.

But uninstalling and re-installing Ffox wouldn't (well, shouldn't...)
have changed your settings/preferences, as they're in your profile.
Unless you monkeyed with your profile too?

Your problem is the mirror/reverse of what several of us absolutely do
not want!

Check the recent thread <Block autoplay of videos>, and see Jo-Anne's
follow-up to what Man-wai Chang and myself had done... and then try
exactly the opposite.

By live stream video you mean one from here?

<https://www.youtube.com/live>

Each one I've clicked on auto starts with audio, except for the ones
that say, Starts on a certain time and day in the future.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/68.0 Version 68.0.1 with all extensions enabled.

Do they work for you in safe mode? Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

What operating system?

NOBODY, thank you for your suggestion. However, I will change the ABOUT:CONFIG only as a last resort and maybe not then :-). And I did not make any changes to my profile.

WALTs48, I tried safe mode with the same results. Here is one of the live streams that I'm referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWlU7hWEl8c.
I am running Windows 7/Home 64-bit OS.

Considering that to run the live stream is only one click away, I may just forget this and not worry about it. I just thought there was a simple change to a setting. Apparently, I was wrong.

"Allow or block media autoplay in Firefox"
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay

Clear the Block websites from automatically playing sound check box.
For me it works with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWlU7hWEl8c

It doesn't auto play when I go to the original explore.org site. Maybe
it isn't live?

This link does <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SC_htZ0afI>. It is the
one with the Live Now indicator in in the Up next column from your link.

When I click the back arrow to go back to your link it auto starts, but
is a blank video with static for the sound.

Is the Autostart icon blue on YouTube? I just noticed that after sending

If not, enable it and reload the page.
