That's a very vague question.

Let me guess: It's something used to bulk up Firefox for consumption.
(In analogy to hamburger helper)

Careful what you say. You may receive a niece note from Chris. He
doesn't tolerate any joking around what so ever.

He is good at answering question though.

I only ask because I saw it listed in my software firewall's
list of applications. It show the name as "Firefox Helper",
and the file as "Helper.exe".

I don't know of any part of Firefox called "Firefox Helper". Is what
you're referring to actually called "Firefox Helper" or is it something
like that?
It's probably part of an add-on, or maybe even malware. Give us more
details about what you're seeing, and we can tell you what it is.

Is it this? <http://remarqs.net/misc/helper.exe.png>

If so, it's part of Mozilla's install/uninstall mechanism. I believe
it's also called for update-related stuff for things like registering
Firefox as the default browser.

That looks like it.

Ah, thanks.

It is found here:

C:\[redacted]\Mozilla\Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe [846KB]

and here:

C:\[redacted]\Mozilla\Tbird\uninstall\helper.exe [903KB]

It is listed in my software firewall's list of applications.
It shows the name as "Firefox Helper", and the file as
"Helper.exe".

Mr. Ilias:

I have a Firefox account and only use it to post a family website
Periodically I get a pop up message that asks me to update my version (I'm currently on 19.0)
HOWEVER
I can't get connected to the Update Server!
I'll wait 10-15 minutes and nothing happens and then I'll quit

Do you have a suggestion about what I might do? (I'm afraid I'm getting farther and farther behind with a current version!) -
Thank you

If it won't update, download and install the latest version.

[Mozilla Firefox Web Browser — Firefox Features —

If you have not backed up your profiles I would download and install
Mozbackup, and back up the profiles in Thunderbird, (While you are at it
you may as well back up Firefox at the same time)

I would then do as suggested above and Download Firefox as stated

Depending on the operating system I would uninstall the version you are
currently using, and they reboot the computer.

If you really want to clean out the system go to the Programs folder
find the folder for Thunderbird and delete it. (It should be empty but
this will remove any Remanent from all previous version.)

I would then install the new version of Thunderbird. Note: The new
version will find your old profile, but if something happens you can
restore from the Mozbackup file you created.
